EYE OF THE HURRICANE 🌀 🏴‍☠️

The atmosphere in Omaha continues to be electric. Arizona has been eliminated so it will be interesting to see if those repping will head out or “Bear Down” and stay for the atmosphere. Also interesting to see if schools like LSU and Coastal Carolina only gain more support as they continue winning.

COASTAL CAROLINA ADVANCED TO CWS FINAL FOUR ⚾️ 🏆️ 🐓

From literally the very first batter of the night, the ball bounced in Coastal Carolina’s favor. And, the Chanticleers also outplayed the Oregon State Beavers, thus earning themselves a spot in the Final 4 of College Baseball.

Cade Bodine reached first on an error to lead off the game. And by the time Colby Thorndyke came up to bat, the bases were loaded full of Chanticleers. A two-out double brought three runs in to opening up the scoring early for Coastal.

Jacob Morrison went 7 2/3 strong as the Sun Belt’s best pitcher was dominant throughout his start, striking out seven.

Runs 4 and 5 were scored as a direct result of a field error by Oregon State then a wild pitch, even further extending the Coastal lead.

Thorndyke was not done yet. After getting plunked by a pitch and earning first base the hard way, Designated Hitter Dean Mehos doubled driving in Thorndyke, adding to the lead.

Coastal did give up a HR in the 9th but Hayden Johnson and Ryan Lynch combined for the final four outs, striking out three Beavers, including the 27th and final out.

Coastal now is in a wait-and-see scenario. On Tuesday in an elimination game, Louisville plays Oregon State. That winner will play Coastal Carolina on Wednesday. If Coastal wins, the Chanticleers qualify for the College World Series Finals.

LSU EXTENDING ITS LEAD WITH THE WORLD FAMOUS ROCCO’S JELLO SHOT CHALLENGE

If you ever want to study marketing - come to Omaha during the College World Series. Across from the stadium is bar. Actually, officially its Rocco’s Pizza & Cantina. But, its a bar. They figured out pretty quickly, if they pre-make thousands upon thousands of jello shots in multiple flavors, charge each customer $5.00 per jello shot and then post the daily tracker scoreboard… competition and pride of your school, not to mention, maybe a little bit of alcohol influence and the power of the internet will do the rest.

Now, on Rocco’s behalf, they are only making $2.50 per shot. $2.00 is staying locally and being given to charity of choice and $0.50 per shot is being donated to that’s school’s charity of choice. So drink up, its for a good cause!

As of 11:30 PM CT on Sunday night, the current standings of jello shots consumed is at the following:

  1. LSU - 13,552

  2. Murray State - 6,420

  3. Arkansas - 5,583

  4. Coastal Carolina - 4,024

  5. Arizona - 1,599

  6. Oregon State - 1,375

  7. Louisville - 1,315

  8. UCLA - 929
