EYE OF THE HURRICANE 🌀 🏴☠️
Had the opportunity earlier this week to have a private after hours tour of the Omaha Zoo with all 8 teams and their families. After looking at the teams, here was my #1 takeaway. LSU, UCLA and Oregon State as a collective unit stood taller than the rest. The average player looked 6’2. Those same teams went 3-0 in the first round. Means nothing? Means everything? I just know the whole bigger, stronger, faster theory works in all sports.
UPDATE COLLEGE WORLD SERIES BRACKETS
⚾️ 🌽 🏆️
UCLA opened up a big lead then held on against the true underdog survivor of the tournament, Murray State. Then in the nightcap, after a full day of tailgating, fine grilling, heaving drinking and frozen shots taking, LSU took out Arkansas, 4-1.
The first elimination game is tomorrow at 2 PM ET as Louisville takes on Arizona. Then in the nightcap, 8:00 PM ET, Coastal Carolina takes on Oregon State.

PANTHERS ROAD DEFENSE KEY TO VICTORY
🏒 🏆️
The Florida Panthers are now one win away from hoisting the Stanley Cup Trophy for the second consecutive year. Saturday, the series returned to Edmonton where the shenanigans and trash talking were left in Florida by both teams. Instead, Florida brought their lockdown defense.
This was the first game of the series where combined, the two teams did not register 50+ shot attempts, yet still managed to score 7 goals again. Every game has had at least 7 total goals. The last albeit was an empty netter for the Panthers.
Edmonton (wish I new this prior to my pick), but the backup goal in, in efforts to shake things up and see if something different sticks. It didn’t. After up 2-0 at the end of one, but teams skated an even draw of no goals scored in the 2nd. Then, in the 3rd, Florida added two more while Edmonton finally scored their first. The Oilers played 6v5 with an empty net for the final 5+ minutes of the game before the Panthers threw in a distance shot to sound the alarm.
Series travels back to Florida in Game 6. Florida has an opportunity to close things out Tuesday night. If Edmonton can steal one back on the road, then Game 7 returns back to Canada on Saturday.
